The true number of Americans who’ve been infected with coronavirus could be over 20 million, new data from the CDC suggests.

Anyone who follows our Instagram platform always know that we have been preaching that #CoronavirusAintOver, and new spikes across the country, coupled with new data from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are truly proving that Miss Rona is here to stay.

In a call with reporters Thursday, CDC director Dr. Robert Redfield stated, “Our best estimate right now is that for every case that's reported, there actually are 10 other infections," This new estimate comes from the review of blood samples across the country, which are used to see the presence of antibodies for the virus. According to Redfield, for every confirmed case of COVID-19, 10 more people had antibodies. Redfield also emphasized that the virus has rapidly spread through asymptomatic carriers.

There are currently 2.3 million COVID-19 cases reported in the United States. This week, big states like Florida, Arizona, Texas, and California - all states who started an aggressive re-opening - continued to break their own records for daily amount of coronavirus cases. Redfield urged Americans to be in contact with fewer people “if they must go out into the community”.

This comes a day after Dr. Robert Fauci, the nation’s top infectious disease expert, implored Americans to get back to taking coronavirus seriously. He warned that the next few weeks are going to be critical in “our ability to address those surges we’re seeing in Florida, in Texas, in Arizona, and other states. They’re not going to be the only ones having a difficulty.”
