Irony Is Oh So Sweet, Democrats Launch Investigation Into Jared Kushner's Use Of Private Email
By: Anna Gibson
Maryland Representative and top Democratic offical Elijah Cummmings is conducting an invesigation on Jared Kushner and the use of his private email. Politico reported that Kushner, who doubles as Trump's Son-in-law and Senior advisor, was communicating with White House officials via private email.
Tell me….is this deja vu? Trump built his campaign around criticizing Hillary Clinton for the use of Her private email server during her time as Secretary of State yet Kushner spent his time after the campaign setting up his private email account to conduct government work. Use of private email accounts has become a common trend in the Trump administration.
In a statement made by Abbe Lowell, Kushner’s Lawyer, Kushner only uses his White House email to conduct official WH business. Lowell also stated "Mr. Kushner uses his White House email address to conduct White House business, fewer than a hundred emails from January through August were either sent to or returned by Mr. Kushner to colleagues in the White House from his personal email account."
During the summer of 2016, Kushner was reported to be present at the time Donald Trump Jr. met with Russian lawyers. This investigation comes only days after news came out that Robert Muller was beginning to dive deeper into the Russian Probe. The two situations may collide as Muller has expressed Kushner is a person of interest.
Additionally, Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders stated that “White House Counsel has instructed all White House staff to use their government email for official business, and only use that email."
Will we start seeing Consverative-Twitter tweeting #LockHimUp like they did for Hillary Clinton? Stay tuned.
