Fake News Spreader: Trump Blatantly Lies On Obama
By: Kayla Pasacreta
Trump's Monday has been nothing short of interesting. In the White House today, Trump expressed that Republicans in Congress are not getting enough done and keeping him from achieving key things on his agenda, like building a border and repealing Obamacare. Still, Trump insisted he would not blame himself for the party's failures, "But we’re not getting the job done. And I’m not going to blame myself. I’ll be honest, they are not getting the job done.” Talk about modesty!
To continue his morning of bold statements, Trump spewed out a blatant lie about former President Barack Obama. In a press conference today, Trump finally addressed the killing of 4 U.S. soldiers in Niger - twelve days after the tragedy happened. He said he will eventually call the parents of the fallen, and prided himself on making it a tradition to give calls to parents of U.S. soldiers. He went as far to say,
“So the traditional way, if you look at President Obama and other presidents, most of them, didn’t make calls, a lot of them didn’t make calls, I like to call when it’s appropriate, when I think I’m able to do it.”
— DONALD TRUMP
Not only is this statement a petty dig at Barack Obama, it made most people say #WTF.
Why would he make a lie that is so easy to dispute? Obama's former deputy chief of staff, Alyssa Mastromonaco, responded to the false claims on Twitter.
Come on, Trump. Keep Obama's name out of your mouth next time.
