Video Confirms The Death of Malcolm Harsch, Who Was Found Hanging, Was a Suicide

When Malcolm Harsch was found hanging from a tree in Southern California, around the same time that many Black men were mysteriously found dead hanging on trees, social media brought attention to the possibility of lynchings still going on in America in 2020. Social media outcry helped lead to an investigation by the Victorville Police Department. A family representative of Malcolm Harsch, Najee Ali, stated Friday that a video from the incident has confirmed that Harsch died by suicide.
“On behalf of the family of Malcolm Harsch, unfortunately it seems he did take his own life,” said Ali. “The Victorville Police Department officials released new video evidence to family members.”
The Los Angeles Times reports that detectives were able to obtain from the footage from surveillance video near the building where his body was discovered.
