Trump Accuses Obama of Spying on Him During the Election: Is This True?
By Alexis Alex
Trump is at war with his own Department of Justice. On May 17, Trump went on a Twitter rant ordering the Department of Justice to investigate accusations that the FBI under President Obama spied on the Trump campaign during the 2016 presidential race.
This accusation comes amid of the ongoing investigation headed by Robert Mueller, into the alleged Russian interference the 2016 election campaign. The Mueller team has indicted a total of 22 people and companies so far. This is not the first time that Trump has accused the Obama administration has been accused of spying on the Trump campaign. Last year, Trump accused Obama of wiretapping Trump Towers before the 2016 election.
After this, the rant continued the next day with Trump alleging that the Department of Justice put a "spy" inside his presidential campaign as part of an effort to frame him for crimes he "didn’t commit".
It is Trump's constitutional right to demand the Department of Justice to carry out this investigation, but this Obama accusation seems like more of a revenge plot against the Department of Justice because of the Russia investigation. Why is your president so petty? The saga continues.
