The Block Is Hot: DNC Files Lawsuit Against Trump Campaign And Russian Government

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is taking action with a new lawsuit that alleges Russia, the Trump Campaign, and WikiLeaks all worked together to disrupt the 2016 election to help Trump win. Donald Trump Jr. and Jared Kushner are also named in the suit. Check out some of DNC Chair Tom Perez's statement:
“During the 2016 presidential campaign, Russia launched an all-out assault on our democracy, and it found a willing and active partner in Donald Trump’s campaign...This constituted an act of unprecedented treachery: the campaign of a nominee for President of the United States in league with a hostile foreign power to bolster its own chance to win the presidency.””
The Washington Post has reported that the suit is seeking millions of dollars in damages, and was filed in a Manhattan district court this morning. The lawsuit alleges that the additional emails leaked by WikiLeaks were a part of an orchestrated effort to hurt the Clinton campaign and lead to a Trump victory.
The DNC has long been criticized for "allowing" Hillary Clinton to lose the election - this lawsuit signals that the party is getting serious about fighting back.
