Trump Says No More DACA Deal, Blames Failure On Democrats

In a series of tweets on Easter Sunday and Monday, Donald Trump has declared Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) is dead. DACA gave protections to immigrants who were brought here as children. Trump killed the program back in August, but originally offered to re-negotiate provisions for the programs with Democrats, securing a legislative window to figure out a solution. Since then, Trump has rejected several bipartisan proposals to save DACA. This morning, Trump tweeted, “DACA is dead because the Democrats didn’t care or act, and now everyone wants to get onto the DACA bandwagon... No longer works,”
Senate Democrats took to Twitter to combat Trump's claims, and insist that Trump was never truly serious about keeping DACA.
Republican John Kasich also took to Twitter to condemn Trump,
After Trump killed DACA, Democrats brought forward a Dreamer bill and even set off a government shutdown in hopes to preserve DACA. So, Trump's decision to place blame on Democrats for trying to save a program he ended is a bit confusing.
