The Parkland School Shooter Has Been Identified As A White Supremacist

On Wednesday afternoon at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, a gunman opened fire, injuring several people and killing 17 people so far.
Here's what we know:
- 17 people have been reported dead
- The shooter has been identified as white male Nikolas Cruz, and he is in police custody
- He was armed with multiple magazines and an AR-15 rifle.
- Cruz was a member of a white supremacist militia group called the Republica of Florida (ROF). A spokesperson for the group stated, “I’m not trying to glorify it, but he was pretty efficient in what he did,” he continued, “He probably used that training to do what he did.”

Various details have been floating around, but the Broward County sheriff's department has been clarifying details via Twitter. As of 4:00pm Wednesday, the shooter, identified as Nikolas Cruz, has been confirmed as in custody. Dozens of law enforcement and paramedics are on-site to bring students out of the school.
Donald Trump tweeted his condolences:
Broward County Schools super-indent has stated, "It's a horrific situation. It's just a horrible day for us...this is a day we prayed would never happen in our county."

This high school shooting marks the 18th school shooting of 2018.
