Trump's latest group attack: Black Women Journalists

Trump's latest group attack: Black Women Journalists

By Alexis Alex

1st Offense: Yamiche Alcindor

On Wednesday, during Trump’s afternoon press conference, PBS reporter Yamiche Alcindor asked Trump to clarify what he meant when he identified as a “nationalist” during a rally in Houston in October. Alcindor also asked if he believes his language is essentially a “dog whistle: to white nationalists who feed off of this rhetoric. Trump replied calling Alcindor’s question “racist”. Racist, really Trump?? You are calling a Black woman who asked you a logical question racist? Incorrect, but okay.

Watch here:

2nd Offense: April Ryan

On Wednesday, Trump repeatedly tried to embarrass the National Urban Radio Networks White House correspondent, April Ryan. During the Wednesday press conference, he repeatedly told Ryan to “sit down” and because he was not calling on her to ask a question, essentially treating her like a child. Then today, Trump verbally attacked April Ryan again during his Q&A with reporters on the White House Lawn. Trump called While responding to questions about revoking CNN's Jim Acosta after a press conference on Wednesday, Trump directly ridiculed both Acosta and journalist April Ryan.

He spoke, "He is a very unprofessional guy," Trump said of Acosta. "Whether it was me or Ronald Reagan or anybody else, he would have done the same thing. Look, I don't think he's a smart person, but he's got a loud voice. The same thing with April Ryan," Trump said. "I watch her get up. I mean, you talk about somebody that's a loser. She doesn't know what the hell she's doing. She gets publicity and then she gets a pay raise or a contract with, I think, CNN. But she's very nasty."

Watch here:

Oh Trump, how respectful it is for you to speak on a woman who is not even present at the conference! Keep April Ryan’s name out of your mouth! And through all of this negativity, April Ryan responded by claiming she does respect Trump, but she will continue to do her job and ask Trump the important questions:

3rd Offense: Abby Phillip

During the Q&A on the White House lawn today, CNN correspondent Abby Phillip asked Trump if he envisions his new attorney general, Matthew Whitaker, will get involved in the Russia probe to limit special counsel Robert Mueller, and president replied: “What a stupid question that is. What a stupid question. I watch you a lot. You ask a lot of stupid questions.”

Of course, Trump deflected this question by verbally attacking Phillips because he knew she was trying to make an important point. This is because in a report for CNN’s New Day, Abby Phillip revealed that the White House did not do a thorough background check on Whitaker before firing Session, overlooking numerous times in which Whitaker publicly decried the very Special Counsel investigation he oversees. Phillip also revealed a point that not surprising: President Donald Trump put the Acting AG in his current position because he liked what saw Whitaker say on television. This explains why Trump deflected the question and chose to attack Phillips instead, what a class act!

We have seen Trump transition between different groups of Black people he wants to attack, and now Black Women Journalists are getting their turn. It is disgusting to watch someone empower their lies and racist rhetoric, and then accuse Black journalists of being losers, racists, and stupid when they ask pressing questions, like it is not their job to question him! Grow up Trump, Black Women Journalists will continue to ask you the important questions, so remember to have your facts straight next time and maybe you will not have result to verbal attacks! Respect Black Women.
