Election Day is here! It’s important to know all the right tactics and techniques when it comes to participating in elections.

1. MAKE SURE YOU ARE REGISTERED

Register to vote (especially if you’re a college study outside of your home state, make sure you get an absentee ballot so your registration is changed to the city or town you are currently in)
Be sure to confirm your voting registration status within State or local elections weeks prior to the elections.

2. KNOW YOUR POLLING LOCATION & HOURS

Make sure you know the location of where voting is being held. In certain places you might have to go to another town or county to vote.
Have a carpool, friend or group to go with in advance, makes the experience more memorable and also it helps bring more people to vote. Check to see if your college/university has a buspool, what are the times that takes students to the poll center so you can make it and place your vote.

3. KNOW YOUR STATE’S VOTER ID REQUIREMENTS

Some state require voters to show some type of identification to vote. You can always look it based off of what state your currently in, it’s always safe to bring your license and maybe a passport if you have on just to be safe.

4. ABSENTEE BALLOTS

Most states allow voters to use absentee ballots under certain circumstances.
Be sure to check certain date and requirements for requesting and returning one before election day.
Absentee ballots MUST BE sent in before election day.

5. KNOW WHO AND WHAT YOU ARE VOTING FOR

Please be an educated voter, we saw what happened in 2016, when certain voter thought the 2016 Presidential Election was joke, now look at us.
Take the time to educate yourself, Google who the candidates are if you don’t know.
Know what the candidates are running for and what kind of power they will have in that seat or position.
