Another W For Roc Nation: Company Gets All Charges Dropped Against Sixth-Grader Arrested for Refusing to Stand for Pledge of Allegiance

Jay-Z’s Roc Nation has secured yet another legal victory. ICYMI, Roc Nation’s legal team has previously helped Meek Mill, 21 Savage, and countless others. This time, Hov called on Roc Nation’s legal team to fight for Jabari Talbot, a sixth-grader who was arrested for refusing to stand for the Pledge of the Allegiance last month.
On Feb. 4th, Jabari Talbot got into an argument with a substitute teacher after he refused to stand for the National Anthem. “The flag was racist and the national anthem was offensive to black people,” he explained. His teacher proceeded to tell him that if he did not feel welcomed in the U.S., he could always “go back”. After accusing Jabari of being disruptive, a school officer arrested him. The officer also claimed that Jabari threatened the teacher with physical violence.
After news of the arrest got to Team ROC, the philanthropic division of Roc Nation, the team tapped Alex Spiro to handle Talbot’s case pro-bono.
