On Monday, the FBI raided the offices of Trump's personal lawyer, Michael Cohen. The FBI officials reportedly seized documents pertaining to payments of porn star Stormy Daniels and an array of other documents pertaining to emails, tax documents, and business records. The raid occurred after New York City federal prosecutors obtained a warrant to raid the offices.
Cohen has long served as a personal attorney and confidant of Donald Trump. Additionally, Cohen serves as the executive vice president of the Trump Organization. Cohen's lawyer has already responded to public reports of the raid, calling the raid "completely inappropriate and unnecessary.” Among the records seized are personal communications between Trump and Cohen, which may be limited in review due to lawyer-client protection.
The warrant referral came from Mueller's office, but the officers were not raided by the special counsel.
