5 Major Things You Missed From The Stormy Daniels Interview
By: Dana Phillips
A week before the 2016 election, Stormy Daniels was paid in order to keep her affair with Donald Trump private. Mrs. Daniels has spent over 20 years staring in adult films. Daniels and her husband have a seven year old daughter together.
Stormy had her first televised interview with Anderson Cooper on CBS to discuss her alleged affair with Donald Trump. The story was first leaked in 2011 that Trump and Stormy had an on again of again affair. Stormy reportedly signed a confidentiality report but that didn't stop her from her 60-minute interview. Although the interview wasn't full of as much drama as we were anticipating here are the 5 facts that are the important things to know
1. Stormy Daniels reported she was allegedly paid 130,000 right before the 2016 election to stay silent. As well as being threatened in 2011 several times to remain quiet.
2. Stormy first encountered with Trump when he invited her for dinner to discuss being a contestant on the "Celebrity Apprentice". Admittedly she discussed how it was just a ploy to get her to spend the night with him at the celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe in July 2006. Just a few months after Melina Trump gave birth to their son.
3. At one point, Trump told Stormy that she reminded him of his daughter Ivanka Trump. "He was like, 'Wow, you -- you are special. You remind me of my daughter.' You know -- he was like, 'You're smart and beautiful, and a woman to be reckoned with, and I like you. I like you,'" According to Stormy, his favorite topic of conversation was himself as well as discussing his success and Stormy's profession.
4. Their relationship was consensual, and Trump often called and asked to see her without making their relationship appear like a secret. Stormy denied confirming if she had any saved emails or texts of any of their exchanges.
5. The president's long-time lawyer Michael Cohen says he used $130,000 of his own money to pay Stormy Daniels to remain silent.
Daniels had a lot to risk by doing the interview. Although Daniels' lawyer insists the non-disclosure agreement is legally void because Trump didn't sign it, Trump's lawyer has sent Daniels a cease and desist in response to the 60 Minutes interview. Trump's lawyers have said every time Daniels speaks out about the affair, it amounts to a $1 million fine. While Daniels' interview adds to the persisting chaos in the Trump White House, it poses a threat as yet another scandal the administration must find a way to deal with.
