Hope Hicks, the White House Communications director and one of Trump's most trusted aides, has announced she is resigning from her post at the White House. The New York Times reported Hicks' resignation Wednesday afternoon. This resignation comes just one day after her 8-hour testimony to the White House Intelligence Committee, in which she testified her job "sometimes required" her to tell "white lies".
In her statement announcing her resignation, Hicks expressed gratitude to Trump, "There are no words to adequately express my gratitude to President Trump," Hicks served as one of he most low-profile members of Trump's cabinet, but was increasingly in the public eye the past couple of weeks; particularly for her role in the handling of the exit of White House staff secretary Rob Porter, who stepped down after public abuse allegations against him.
Just last January, Hicks was featured in Forbes' 30 Under 30. Prior to working on the Trump campaign, Hicks had no political experience. As a teenager, she modeled for Ford and Ralph Lauren. 2012, she started working for PR firm Hiltzik Strategies as a consultant. There, one of the companies clients was Ivanka Trump and Hicks left to work directly for Ivanka's clothing line. After that, Hicks started working in various Trump-owned companies and started working for the Trump Organization as a full-time job.
Many are wondering if Hick's resignation is the first domino of a new revelation of the Russia Investigation.
