The Sessions and Trump Beef Continues

By: Chandler Baxter

This might be the first time in history we have seen so much negative news revolve around the POTUS. Each minute we are getting surprising news on something new and “shocking” happening in The White House. Yes, I purposely meant to put quotation marks around shocking.

Today, Trump and Sessions seem to be growingly frustrated with one another. This isn't the first time the two have publicly clashed. Trump feels Sessions shouldn't have recused himself from th Russia Investigation. By doing so, in Trump's eyes, Sessions admitted to fault, and admission of any guilt is clearly unacceptable in Trump's White House. President Donald Trump said Tuesday he was "disappointed" with Attorney General Jeff Sessions, without furthering detail on whether or not he would fire him. We all know POTUS had a tendency to call grown adults names - we just weren't prepared for him to refer to his handmade pick for Attorney General as "weak".

Still, Trump proves every day that behavior typically viewed as inappropriate is  now becoming commonplace presidential behavior (see tweet below).

Although Trump is highly upset with Sessions, Sessions has received some support from a few of his Republican Senator colleagues. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell was one of the senators that supported Sessions decision.  "Jeff Sessions is one of the most decent people I've ever met in my political life," said South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham. Now, Trump can invoke his authority under the federal Vacancies Act and temporarily fill the slot with someone of his choice who has already been confirmed by the Senate to another position.  Regardless on whether you support Trump or not, with everything going on in the news, you can't help but question “what is going on in The White House?”  Do you think Sessions should have recused himself from the Russia Investigation? Why? Why not?
