You've probably recently seen a lot of short headlines about North Korea lately. A couple of days ago, Donald Trump took to Twitter to express his dismay at China after North Korea's missile test ended in South Korea's waters.

So, what exactly is Trump talking about? Tuesday. According to CNN, North Korea announced that they finally, " successfully tested an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), which state media said had reached an altitude of 2,802 kilometers (1,741 miles), its highest ever missile test." North Korea's media reported that the country finally had a device powerful enough to strike America. North Korea's media largely displayed much happiness about the missile testing, calling it a "gift for American Bastards."

Since the missile was tested in South Korea, the US and South Korea have expressed concerns over" North Korea's destabilizing and unlawful actions." South Korea and the United States are allies, and have pledged to try to come up with a solution to North Korea together. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has stated,  the missile brings a “new escalation of the threat”, he went on to say the United States must "never accept a nuclear-armed North Korea."

In response to North Korea's missile testing, the United States requested an emergency United Nations Security Council meeting, which is expected to take place today. Still, some say not to worry much about North Korea's missile attempts. Melissa Hanham, a researcher at James Martin Center, insists that North Korean media outlets are not entirely credible and their reports should be 'taken with a grain of salt'.
