Trump to UCLA Players: Thank Me For Your Freedom!
By: Kayla Pasacreta
Last week, 3 basketball players from UCLA were arrested in China after stealing high-end sunglasses. The players were reportedly facing 31 days of house arrest in China.
Donald Trump, fresh off a 12-day trip from Asia, was able to pull some strings and help the players out. Trump's chief of staff John Kelly explained how Trump got around to helping the players, explaining Trump called the players "knuckleheads" but insisted their actions weren't too serious. The three players, LiAngelo Ball (brother of LA Lakers player Lonzo Ball), Cody Riley, and Jalen Hill are expected to make statements to the media at 11 A.M. this morning.
The players returned to LA today, and just within 12 hours of their arrival, Trump couldn't resist giving himself props for securing their freedom.
Putting the weirdness of Donald referring to himself in third-person aside, since when do Presidents exert bragging rights for securing citizens freedom?
