Trump Kicks Off UK Visit With Insults
By: Kayla Pasacreta
Trump kicked off his official state visit to the United Kingdom with his go-to form of action: insulting tweets. Just ahead of touching down to London, he tweeted out his share of insults for CNN and the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan. In a tweet this morning, he referred to Khan as a “stone-cold loser”.
Donald Trump and Melania were greeted by Queen Elizabeth this morning at Buckingham Palace.
Trump, unlike former presidents Bush and Obama, will not be staying at Buckingham Palace due to “ongoing renovations”. At Buckingham Palace, Trump had lunch with the Queen and spent time reviewing a royal collection. Also present were Prince Harry, Ivanka Trump, and Jared Kushner. A state banquet will take place at Buckingham Palace tonight and should bring hundreds of guests, including Prince William, the Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince Harry.
A massive anti-Trump protest is scheduled to take place Tuesday afternoon in Trafalgar Square.
