Well folks, it looks like your president got caught lying again!

Remember when Donald Trump started beef with Lavar Ball because he didn’t say thank you for helping LiAngelo Ball and the UCLA players get out of China? Well, it turns out Lavar Ball refused to thank Donald Trump because he did not actually play an important part in the release of the UCLA basketball player.

Let's rewind back to November, Trump publicly took credit for intervening on behalf of the UCLA players and calling the Chinese President to advocate for their release after the players stole from Chinese retail stores. Although LiAngelo Ball and the other UCLA players thanked Trump for his help, Trump proceeded to call his father Lavar Ball “very ungrateful” for not thanking him and giving credit for his part in their release.

Following Trump's twitter attack, Lavar Ball went on ESPN and stated he would never publicly thank Trump because he did not play an important role in the release of his son, and now Lavar Ball's truth is coming to light. A new ESPN report released this month revealed that although Trump might have spoken to the Chinese President on behalf of the players, he did not intervene until after everything had been fixed and taken care of between the players and the Chinese government.  ESPN reported,

“The situation was already resolved by the time we heard about Trump’s involvement,” a team source told ESPN. “They also were not under house arrest. It was our decision to keep them at the hotel until the situation was resolved. The charges were dropped, they weren’t reduced, and that happened two days before we heard from Gen. Kelly.,” the source continued. "That’s not to take away from the fact that he got involved, but the players already had their passports back and their flights booked to go home,” by the time Trump stepped in.

After this report was released, Lavar Ball took it Twitter to tease Trump about the truth revealed in the ESPN report.

Welp, the facts tell it all! Trump took credit for something he did not do and he was exposed, looks like Lavar Ball is the winner of this beef!
