After a seven-day hearing, former Olympics doctor Larry Nassar, 54, has faced his doomsday. Nassar had already been sentenced to 60 years for child pornography charges. After hearing from 156 young women who were the victims of Nassar's sexual misconduct, Judge Rosemarie Aquilina sentenced Nassar to 175 years in prison, stating,
Dr. Nassar used his post as a gymnastics doctor to molest and sexually assault over 160 young gymnasts. Nassar pleaded guilty to 7 counts of criminal misconduct, apologized for his actions, and said the testimonies from the women shook him to his core. Nassar added, "There are no words that can describe the depth and breadth of how sorry I am for what has occurred,"

Nassau's sexual misconduct went on for decades, causing many people to believe the USA Gymnastics board cast a blind eye to Nassar's behavior. Former gymnast Rachael Denhollandor expressed, "Women and girls banded together to fight for themselves because no one else would do it," The US Olympics Committee is calling on all members on the board of the USA Gymnastics Committee to step down.
