This morning's tea is piping and forces us to believe the Russia Investigation is not #fakenews. Last month, the FBI raided Paul Manafort's (former Trump campaign director) Alexandria home. The FBI had a search warrant to take any tax documents and materials pertaining to the 2016 election.
Manafort's home was raided not long after he testified in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee. Jason Maloni, spokesperson for Manafort, confirmed the house was raided and stated, "Mr. Manafort has consistently cooperated with law enforcement and other serious inquiries and did so on this occasion as well." According to the New York Times, the warrant "suggests that investigators are looking at criminal charges related to the federal Bank Secrecy Act, which requires Americans to report their foreign banking accounts."
This search warrant surely has us wondering: is Mueller getting somewhere in the Russia investigation? Paul Manafort has ties to many foreign accounts, served as the main-man in Trump's campaign for a few months, and was in that scrutinized meeting with Russian officials who promised dirt on Hillary Clinton.
