21 States Targeted in Election by Russian Hackers

After the 2016 Presidential Election, we witnessed allegations made by the U.S. government against Russia’s government implying that they meddled in the recent election.  This is probably one of the few times in history where we are able to see Democrats and Republicans coming together, in order to seek out answers to these allegations.  James Comey, former Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Director, recently testified before the House Intelligence Agency to confirm that the bureau was indeed looking into the relationship, between one of President Donald Trump’s advisors, ( U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions) and Russia to see whether or not these relations played a role in Moscow's attempts to interfere with the election.  Earlier this morning news also broke out that former Homeland Security Chief, Jeh Johnson, testified denying Russia meddling the 2016 Presidential election.  Along with his statement he focused on the Obama administration, stating that they waited too long to confirm this because the election was “rigged”.

This evening, Jeanette Manfra, who serves as the Acting Deputy Undersecretary for Cybersecurity and Communications at DHS, confirmed they have evidence that Russia targeted 21 states leading up to the 2016 election. The states haven't yet been disclosed, however Manfra states that the owners of the affected voting systems have been informed.  Things are definitely stirring up in the White House, and looking chaotic for the Trump’s administration; maybe that's what they should be directing their focus towards, instead of trying to eliminate all of the policies Former President Barack Obama passed. Senate Republicans say that they will reveal their secret health care bill Thursday. Based on the news we just received about Russia targeting 21 states, they might want to consider postponing the big reveal.
