Matt Lauer, one of the most well-known faces of the "Today Show" is the latest media figure to be accused of sexual misconduct. NBC News made the decision to fire Lauer just 34 hours after a woman and her lawyers told executives about Lauer's inappropriate, sexual advances towards her. NBC News announced their decision to fire Lauer this morning.

NBC Chairman Andrew Lack explained the basis of the decision in a memo to employees, “While it is the first complaint about his behavior in the over 20 years he’s been at NBC News, we were also presented with reason to believe this may not have been an isolated incident.” The occurrence the woman described took place at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

Matt Lauer also functioned as the face of iconic celebrations like the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade and Olympics coverage. He joins a roster of high-profile men like Harvey Weinstein, Charlie Rose, Louis C.K. who have all been ousted for sexual misconduct.
