GOP Senate candidate Roy Moore has been in hot water since last week's bombshell Washington Post report, detailing Leigh Corfman's detailed allegations of Moore sexually assaulting and pursing her when she was just 14-years-old, and Moore was 32. Judge Roy Moore was removed twice from Alabama's highest court after refusing to accept gay marriage and refusing to remove the Ten Commandments from the court room (ahem, separation of Church and state).

The sexual assault allegations come just a little over one month before Alabama's election, and is undoubtedly raising the stakes. Before the allegations, Roy Moore was leading polls by six to seven points on average, and now he is trailing his Democratic opponent, Doug Jones. 

Donald Trump has yet to make a statement on  Roy Moore, which is clearly murky water considering Trump has endorsed the candidate. Still, other prominent Republicans have come out with strong words against Moore's actions; calling on him to 'step aside'.

Must notably, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has called on Moore to step down. In a press conference today, McConnell said he believes Moore's accuser and believes it would be best for Moore to step down. Moore quickly quipped back, calling on McConnell to step down.

The Moore controversy is giving Republicans no choice but to stand aside or align themselves against Moore. Alabama governor Kay Ivey has said we 'don't have the facts' and will continue to support Roy Moore. In Alabama, 50 pastors have signed a letter supporting Roy Moore, citing him as an "immovable rock of culture wars".
