By: Kayla Pasacreta

Rapper and activist Nipsey Hussle is being laid to rest in a public memorial Thursday morning at Staples Center, followed by a 25 mile funeral procession that will hit important landmarks through South L.A.

While the service is expected to draw thousands, tickets sold out within minutes and a lot of fans want a chance to pay their respects to Hussle. BET will live-stream the memorial at 10 A.M. PT and 1 P.M. EST on television, their Facebook page, and online.

Tidal is also offering a live-stream of the service.

Ahead of his memorial, L.A. lawmakers have been working to ensure Nipsey’s contributions to the culture are never forgotten.

Wednesday afternoon, Rep. Karen Bass (D-CA) honored Nipsey’s contributions to the L.A. community on the House floor. The Congresswoman described Nipsey as a ‘humble visionary’ who “saw the overlooked and welcomed the dismissed.” His business ventures, his investments, his philanthropy, his community engagement — every step of the way, he had a sole purpose of bettering the community he came from, “Bass stated. Now, Nipsey’s contributions to his community will be recorded in U.S. Congress forever.

On Friday, Los Angeles City Council is expected to rename the intersection of Crenshaw Boulevard and Slauson Avenue to "Nipsey Hussle Square."

Nipsey Hussle’s memorial service starts Thursday at 10 A.M. PT and 1 P.m. EST.
